[ENG] The Failed Holiday - marathon is a video installation on two screens. The installation invites you in a collage of homevideos and short fiction films made by the artist in her teenage years. What is the meaning we give to a personal archive? And how can this meaning change? The artist reflects on how the camera has become a witness to circumstances and changes in her family home, echoed by the teenage fantasies about a series of disastrous holidays.

De installatie neemt je mee in een collage van homevideo's en korte fictiefilms gemaakt door de kunstenaar als tiener. Welke betekenis geven we aan een persoonlijk archief? En wanneer kan deze betekenis veranderen? Weerspiegeld in haar tienerfantasieën over een serie rampzalige vakanties, reflecteert de kunstenaar op hoe de camera een ooggetuige is geworden van alledaagse momenten en veranderingen in het gezinsleven.
