[ENG] An open air cinema on the dried-up bottom of an artificial lake in Bosnia and Herzegovina opens a window to a silent past. A fisherman shares his personal reflections, responding to found footage images shot by tourists travelling to the former Yugoslavia in the sixties and seventies. The silent footage comes alive through a dynamic soundtrack and snippets of a voice. The project was inspired by the landscape around the Bileća lake in the south of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that was artificially formed in 1968 by damming the Trebišnica river and flooding the valley including several villages - the ruins of which now emerge every summertime when the waterlevel lowers.

[NL] Een openluchtcinema op de drooggevallen bodem van een kunstmatig meer in Bosnië-Herzegovina opent een raam naar een verstild verleden. Een visser levert persoonlijk commentaar op archiefbeelden die zijn gemaakt door toeristen in voormalig Joegoslavië in de jaren zestig en zeventig. De stille beelden komen tot leven door een dynamische soundtrack en flarden van een stem. Het project kwam tot stand bij het Bileća-meer, dat in 1968 kunstmatig werd aangelegd toen de rivier Trebišnica werd afgedamd en de vallei, inclusief vijf dorpen, onder water kwam te staan. Elke zomer komen de ruïnes langzaam tevoorschijn als het waterpeil daalt.
